School Meals

All children in F2, Y1 and Y2 are entitled to free school meals.  Children choose their lunch at register time, with help from classroom staff

"Free School Meal" entitlement - additional funding to support your child

 

The school will be able to access additional funding to support your child if you satisfy a what is still defined as a "Free School Meal" entitlement.  To meet the eligibility requirement for this, you should be in receipt of child benefit, and one of the following benefits:

 

  • Income Support;

  • Income Based Jobseekers Allowance;

  • An income-related employment and support allowance;

  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999;

  • Child Tax Credit, but not receiving Working Tax Credit, and your annual income does not exceed £16,190;

  • The guarantee element of State Pension Credit;

  • Parents receiving Working Tax Credit for four weeks after their employment finishes are entitled to free school meals during that period. This also applies to parents who start working less than 16 hours per week.

 

 

You will not qualify for the "Free School Meals" entitlement if you receive Working Tax Credit.

 

You can apply for the "Free School Meal" entitlement in any of the following ways:

 

 

  • Completing an online application form via the Sheffield City Council website.

  • You will generally be told about your entitlement to free school meals for your child(ren) the following working day if you supply an email address

  • Telephoning the School Food Service on 273 5705 or 273 6401.

  • Downloading the application form here.  When completed, send it to School Food Service, First Point, Howden House, 1 Union Street, Sheffield S1 2FH
