Welcome to our School!

At the heart of all we do are our children.  We would like them to enjoy their childhood and be valued for their individuality, culture and heritage.  We would like our children to go into the wider world as well rounded, happy, healthy and responsible citizens who care for the world and all the people who live in it.  We strive for every child to be aspirational and forward thinking in all they do, and remain life long learners who are reflective, resilient and adaptable to the challenges of life in the 21st century.

BIG PE – Days and Sports Coaching

Every week in school each year group will take part in a 'BIG PE' session.  This is a whole afternoon of wonderful physical activity, both indoors and out.  Please note that, FROM NEXT WEEK, F2’s BIG PE day will be MONDAY.  We would like all year groups to work with both of our Sports Coaches, Jess and Rich, to develop a range of skills,
working towards taking part in local sporting events and festivals.

Year group Big PE sessions will take place as follows during this half term:

FS2 - Monday afternoons (from NEXT week)
Year 2 - Wednesday afternoons
Year 1 - Thursday afternoons.

Operation Encompass Project

Our School has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will run jointly between schools and South Yorkshire Police. This project is known as Operation Encompass.

Operation Encompass is the notification to schools that a child (under 18) has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.  This will ordinarily be done by the start of the next school day.  Operation Encompass will ensure that a specifically trained member of the school staff, known as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), is informed.  The DSL can then use the information, in confidence, to ensure the wellbeing of the child.  The school may be able to make provisions or adjustments to assist the young person and their family.

Our school is keen to offer the best support possible to all of our young people and we believe this will be extremely beneficial for all those involved.  For more information go to https://www.operationencompass.org/#

Making a difference to our own community this Christmas time

To help launch our new 'Let's Celebrate!' topic (through our 'Community and Culture' work and the subject drivers of RE, PSHE and History/Geography), each class in school will be creating a shared hamper over the next few weeks.  This will include non-perishable items such as toiletries, small toys and items of warm winter clothing that we will send to a local family in need this Christmas time.

Sign up sheets will be displayed in classrooms at the beginning of next week as we would love each child to donate one item, if possible, to help create a class hamper that will be delivered to a family in our local area in need in preparation for Christmas.
