Welcome to our School!

At the heart of all we do are our children.  We would like them to enjoy their childhood and be valued for their individuality, culture and heritage.  We would like our children to go into the wider world as well rounded, happy, healthy and responsible citizens who care for the world and all the people who live in it.  We strive for every child to be aspirational and forward thinking in all they do, and remain life long learners who are reflective, resilient and adaptable to the challenges of life in the 21st century.

New Whole School Concept and Topics

Today (Monday) is Artist Study Day in which children are learning about the work of a range of artists, including Kandinsky and Munch.  Pupils will then be developing their artistic skills over the rest of the week, using a mix of media (thank you for providing old shirts and T shirts to help keep the children’s uniforms clean whilst they are honing these skills!).  We really do have very creative and talented children, and will build a collection of artwork to share with you in a grand finale later this half term - an Arts Exhibition that each class will create, and around which you will be treated to a guided tour!   You will be able to buy the art work for a small fee—the proceeds will help us buy resources for our creative art activities.

Friends of HNIS Group Meeting

The next meeting of our Friends Group is on Thursday 16 January at 5pm in the staffroom.  Everyone is welcome to come:  the group tries to make our school an even better place for our children, and it would love to hear your ideas about how this can be achieved.  Please come along and give it a try;  there’s free coffee and biscuits!
